Trivia[]
- Grievous Lady was named after the composers of the song, Team Grimoire (Grievous) and Laur (Lady), and has the same letter count as "Grimoire Laur". The title was also chosen to evoke Tairitsu's conflict theme[1].
- The song's composers also composed the two hardest tracks in Eternal Core, PRAGMATISM and Sheriruth.
- The chart designer for each difficulty translates to "Labyrinth 1st Stratum", "Labyrinth 2nd Stratum" and "Labyrinth Depths" respectively.
- Prior to being unlocked, Grievous Lady appears as an unnamed entry on the song list like other Anomaly songs. Levels are displayed as '?' on locked difficulties, and the leaderboard is not shown. The song's jacket is replaced with an empty, greyed-out jacket (right).
- Grievous Lady was not fully revealed in the preview video for Vicious Labyrinth, instead receiving a very short teaser at the end of the video.
- This makes it the first song to receive no explicit announcement by lowiro before its release.
- Grievous Lady is playable in CHUNITHM, maimai, O.N.G.E.K.I., Groove Coaster, and Cytus II, as part of their respective collaborations with Arcaea. At 5 games, it has been added to more commercial rhythm games than any other Arcaea original song.
- An extended version appears on Team Grimoire's 2018 album UMBRA MORTIS.
- A second extended version, Grievous Lady -nothing is but what is not-, appears on Memories of Conflict).
- This makes Grievous Lady the first song in Arcaea to receive two distinct extended versions, preceding #1f1e33, Tempestissimo and Aegleseeker.
- It is the first song to have quadruple hold notes (double floor + double arc) for Present difficulty.
- Prior to mobile version 2.0.0:
- The individual difficulties had corresponding story entries, which were relocated to Story/Vicious Labyrinth:
- Clearing this song with Hikari (Fracture) triggered a cutscene, relocated to Entry V-1.
- The prominent motif of Grievous Lady's final drop was reprised in Team Grimoire's Akzeriyyuth.
- Elements of Akzeriyyuth were then subsequently reprised in Grievous Lady -nothing is but what is not-, released in Memories of Conflict.
- Laur has also mentioned similarities between Grievous Lady and his own song Quaerite Veritatis[2], which was an unsuccessful submission to CHUNITHM's first song contest[3].
